Test_FootstepsOnDifferentSurfaces_01
A downloadable project for Windows
This is a Sound Design test project I made in Unreal Engine 4.
Using mainly Megascan assets, I created a sort of "training room" with a floor made of three different materials, each one of them with a different Physic Material (Wood, Stone and Grass).
Then I recorded some audio tracks of my footsteps on different surfaces. I cleaned and splitted those sound by single steps and then I imported them in Unreal.
Using a Ray Cast, the character is able to determinate which surface he's walking on, generating a Notify in sync with each footstep.
Once determinated the current surface, the Notify play the relative Sound Cue, which will choose randomly between five different steps, then modulate them by pitch and volume, giving the feeling of non-repetition of sounds.
This project has been built for Windows (.exe)
Enjoy!
